A very rare original WW1 British Army Machine Gun Instructor’s handbook, produced in 1916 and updated with amendments in 1917. Covering the use of the Vickers-Maxim .303 Machine Gun in trench warfare actions fought between 1914-1916, it was produced by the British Army Machine Gun Corps Machine Gun Training Centre (M.G.T.C.), based at Belton Park, Grantham, Lincolnshire. The handbook is illustrated with line drawings and diagrams, and includes several pages of handwritten pencil notes made by the original owner, Captain Brown. The book is signed and dated on the front endpaper by Capt. Ulick Brown, 1/6th Bn. The Welsh Regiment, Grantham, 22nd Nov. 16’.


Condition:

In good condition, with general signs of wear and use. The binder is in good condition, with some marks. The text and illustrations are in good condition. With several pages of handwritten pencil notes. Signed and dated on the front endpaper by Capt. Ulick Brown, 1/6th Bn. The Welsh Regiment, Grantham, 22nd Nov. 16’.
