A rare, original WW1 Air Ministry aircraft recognition manual, produced for the use of the Royal Flying Corps and RAF in 1918. It is very well illustrated with silhouettes and photographs, and includes aircraft recognition details of British aircraft operational at the time. With brief details of rigging, specifications, engines, insignia, markings, and views of the aircraft from different angles. Most of the best-known aircraft of the time are included: the Sopwith Camel, Triplane, Dolphin, and Snipe, the Avro 504k, B.E.2., S.E.5, Bristol Scout, Martinsyde Scout, Armstrong Whitworth FK, Vickers FB9, RE 8, Bristol Fighter, Spad, Handley Page bomber, D.H. 9, and many more.
Condition:
In good condition. The card cover shows general signs of age and wear and some marks. The binding is secure. There is a single ring binder hole punched near the spine. The text and illustrations are in good condition, with a few marks and some creased corners.
