A rare original WW1 British Army trench warfare manual. Published in January 1915, it was based on the author’s own experiences ‘Having recently returned from the Front’. The book includes advice on a variety of subjects, including: the duties of a platoon commander, attack and defence of trenches, movement in the field, concealment, fixing bayonets, the charge, rifle fire, artillery fire, fire trenches, shelters, barbed wire, siege operations, taking over a trench, sentries, and outposts. The manual is illustrated with diagrams and line drawings of trenches, shelters and troop formations.

Condition:

In good condition. The card cover is in fair to good condition, with general signs of use, some creases, and some marks. The binding is good and secure. The text and illustrations are in good condition with some creased corners.
