An original War Office Air Reconnaissance guide, produced by the General Staff and Chief of the Air Staff at the end of WW2. It was a revision of the previous version that appeared in 1944. Subjects covered include: types of aircraft, types of reconnaissance, command and control, weather, airfields, communications, security, strategic reconnaissance, tactical reconnaissance, missions, operations, briefing, interrogation, contact reconnaissance, night reconnaissance, artillery observation, air observation posts, artillery reconnaissance, planning of shoots, staff duties, etc. The pamphlet is illustrated with line drawings and diagrams.
Condition:
In good condition. The paper cover is in good condition, with some marks. The stapled binding is good and secure. The text and illustrations are in very good condition with some slightly creased corners. There is a 1947 dated ink stamp of the 'Air Ministry Directorate of Staff Duties' on the front cover
