A rare original WW1 Lewis Automatic Machine Gun handbook, published by the manufacturer, the Birmingham Small Arms Co. Ltd in 1915. The Lewis Gun was manufactured during the First World War by both BSA of Birmingham and the Savage Arms Co. of New York. This book is a guide to the mechanism, handling and maintenance of the ground and aircraft variants of the Lewis Gun, as used by the British Army Royal Flying Corps and RAF during WW1. Illustrated with photographs and a large fold out diagram of the Lewis, it includes a great deal of useful information, including details of how to assemble, load and fire the gun, parts, spares and accessories.

Condition:

In good condition. The cloth-covered card cover shows minor signs of wear and use, and some slight rippling of the cloth. The hinges and binding are good and secure. The text and illustrations are in good condition, with some faint water stains to the central margins of the pages. The large fold-out diagram of the Lewis Gun attached to the back cover of the book is in good condition, with some faint water stains.
