A vintage miniature pocket compass, difficult to date, but probably from c.1950-1960. Very small size (only 25mm diameter), marked 'Germany' on the compass card. In the years immediately after the end of WW2, many items produced in Germany for export were marked 'Foreign' in order to make them more acceptable to a British market that still regarded all things German with a degree of suspicion. So this compass probably dates from around 20 years after the end of the war. The compass has a brass case, a blued needle and an acrylic glass.
The compass is in good condition and finds North well. With minor signs of age and wear, and some small marks to the rear of the case. Marked 'Germany' on the compass card.
