Maschinenbau G.m.b.H., à l'aérodrome de Mockau, près de Leipzig, en Allemagne. Le rapport a été établi en septembre 1945 et consigne les effets des raids de la 8e force aérienne en février, mai et juillet 1944. Document confidentiel, il a été diffusé avec une circulation restreinte, chaque exemplaire étant numéroté individuellement. Il s'agit de l'exemplaire numéro 53. En 1934, elle a signé un contrat avec Junkers pour produire des avions, mais sa véritable nature a dû être dissimulée pendant cette période de réarmement allemand, elle a donc été désignée comme \"Schattenwerk\" ou Usine de l'ombre. Elle a d'abord commencé la production des Junkers W 33 et 34, et du Ju 86D. Une commande temporaire pour le Ju 52 a été émise et a expiré en décembre 1937. Elle a été suivie par la production des He 111 B et E à partir d'avril 1938. De 1940 à environ 1944, le Ju 88 a été l'avion de production principal, la production en série ayant commencé à l'été 1943. En janvier 1944, la société a été renommée ATG Maschinenbau GmbH Leipzig. En 1944, elle a commencé à produire des assemblages pour le Ju 388, qui est entré en production en juillet 1944 dans une succursale à Bernburg. La première commande importante était pour le bombardier Ju 52. ATG est rapidement devenue l'une des plus grandes entreprises de Leipzig. La production des Ju 86A, D et G et des Heinkel He 111 E et H a commencé avant même la fin de la production du Ju-52 en décembre 1937. L'assemblage final et les opérations de vol ont eu lieu à l'aéroport de Leipzig-Mockau. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le programme principal de 1940 à 1944 était la production en série du bombardier Ju 88A. Cela a fait de ces usines un objectif de bombardement allié important, et à partir du 4 décembre 1943, les installations de production d'ATG et l'aérodrome de Leipzig-Mockau ont été à plusieurs reprises la cible de raids aériens alliés, qui ont causé d'importants dommages. Le 1er janvier 1944, la société a été renommée ATG Maschinenbau GmbH Leipzig. La production du bombardier à haute altitude Ju 388 était en préparation depuis 1944, mais l'assemblage final n'a commencé dans les usines de Leipzig-Kleinzschocher et Mockau qu'à partir de septembre 1944. Le dernier travail achevé chez ATG a été la production de pièces pour le chasseur à haute altitude Focke-Wulf Ta 152 en février 1945. Entre 3h50 et 4h25 du matin, 442 bombardiers ont largué un total de près de 1400 tonnes d'explosifs et de bombes incendiaires. Dans le centre-ville, où les bâtiments étaient très denses, le raid aérien a provoqué une tempête de feu. Hans Rumpf, l'inspecteur général des pompiers, se trouvait à Leipzig pendant l'attaque. Il a déclaré que la tempête de feu était encore plus intense que celle de Hambourg lors de l'opération Gomorrhe. Plus de 1800 personnes ont été tuées lors de l'attaque. Le 20 février, entre 3h15 et 4h20 du matin, des zones résidentielles au sud (Connewitz) ainsi que des zones résidentielles et industrielles au sud-ouest de Leipzig (Schleußig et Großzschocher) ont été touchées. Au cours de ce raid nocturne, plus de 700 bombardiers ont largué environ 2300 tonnes de bombes. Dans l'après-midi du même jour, plus de 200 bombardiers de la 8e US Air Force ont attaqué des installations industrielles dans le nord-est de la ville, larguant environ 700 tonnes de bombes.
