THE GERMAN ARMY

RESTRICTED

SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE,
Office of Assitant Chief of Staff, G-4
,  June 1945

An original, WW2 SHAEF intelligence handbook, covering the equipment and weapons of the German army. A ‘restricted’ document, it was issued in June 1945. It was intended to aid Allied officers in dealing with cataloguing and disposing of captured enemy weapons and equipment at the end of the war in Europe. This volume is mostly concerned with small arms (rifles, submachine guns, pistols, machine guns, etc), mortars, rocket-launchers, howitzers, artillery, Flak and anti-tank weapons, plus a certain amount of military engineering equipment.

The manual is well illustrated throughout with diagrams and photographs. There are some very interesting photographs of the standard German small arms, rifles, and pistols in use in 1945, along with other less well known weapons, equipment and devices.
