Price £39.00 Sale

A miniature brass pocket compass, difficult to date, but probably from c.1890 - 1914. Very small in size (only 25mm diameter), the compass has a black painted brass case, paper compass card, and a blued needle. Compasses of this size were often used during WW1 as escape or POW equipment. Francis Barker made several black painted escape compasses of a similar size during WW1.

The compass is in good condition and finds North well. With signs of age and use, and wear to the black painted finish of the case.
