A rare WW2 military map and compass navigation leaflet, undated, but published by the Canadian ASC during WW2, probably c.1943. This is a concise and practical guide to map reading and taking compass bearings. It is a single double sided sheet, with eight pages, folded concertina style. With sections on conventional signs, scales, contour lines, map references, setting the map, use of the compass, naviagtion by watch and stars, points of the compass, and route cards. The leaflet is well illustrated with coloured line drawings and diagrams. The cover illustration shows a serviceman consulting his map.
 
Condition:

In fair to good condition, with general signs of wear and use, some marks, and a few creases.
