produced by G.H.Q., M.E.F, Cairo, 1943

A very rare original WW2 Tank, A.F.V., and enemy weapons recognition manual, published by G.H.Q., Middle East Forces, Cairo, in 1943. The book is named on the front cover to:  ‘Gerald Hunter Robinson’. The manual includes details, specifications and illustrations of German, Italian, and other european tanks, AFV’s, transport, and armoured cars in use in North Africa at that time. It was a revised version of the M.E.F. publication Target (1942), and included new developments such as the German Tiger Tank. Among the enemy vehicles covered are German tanks, artillery, APC’s, anti-tank and flak weapons, and various other vehicles, uniforms, equipment and weapons of the Axis powers. There are also details of Czech and French tanks which were captured and re-used by the German army. The book is well illustrated throughout, with numerous black and white photographs.
