RAID SPOTTER'S NOTE BOOK

Compiled by C. Griffith

CHARLES LETTS & CO., London, 1941

An original WW2 Air Raid Spotters Note Book, covering aircraft recognition, both friendly and hostile, alongside a great deal of other information that would have been useful for A.R.P. members, emergency services and military personnel. The book is undated, but was published in early 1941 (it includes details of the Spitfire Vb, which was introduced early in 1941, and replaced by the Spitfire Vc in October 1941). With details and illustrations of over 100 aircraft, it also includes information about ranging, bombs and bombing, fire fighting, incendiaries, war gases, and first aid to those injured in air raids. The book also has notes pages at the rear on which the raid spotter could document planes that were seen or actions that were witnessed. The original owner of this book has added handwritten notes of aircraft they spotted on three of the notes pages.
