Illustrated with diagrams and line drawings, the book covers the standard issue small arms and weapons of the British Army during the Boer War: the Lee Metford magazine rifle and bayonet, and the Webley pistol. Concentrating mainly on the service rifle, it includes information on training, maintenance, firing positions, ammunition, range practice, bayonet drill, use on the battlefield etc.

In fair to good condition. The card cover is in fair condition, with general signs of use, wear at the edges, and some marks and creases. The rear cover and spine were missing and have been carefully replaced with similar card. The binding and hinges are very good and secure. The text and illustrations are in very good condition with a few minor marks
