A rare original French Lewis Machine Gun handbook, published in 1925. Produced soon after the end of the First World War, Instruction Sur La Mitrailleuse Lewis D'Aviation (1925) is a practical guide to the handling and maintenance of the aircraft variants of the Lewis Gun as used by the Allied air forces, French Air Force, R.F.C., R.N.A.S., and R.A.F. during WW1 and in the inter-war period. Written in French, this handbook is well illustrated with line drawings and diagrams of the gun, its ammunition, parts, tools and accessories. The book includes an amendment sheet detailing modifications, dated October 1932.
Condition:
In very good condition. The card cover has general signs of wear and use, wear to the spine, and some marks. The stapled binding is good and secure. The text and illustrations are in very good condition with age toning to the paper. Includes an official amendment sheet dated 1932.
